The TinyMCE Editor
TinyMCE is an industry standard WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, and is the default text editor for WordPress websites. However, the version that comes with your WordPress site is very basic, and lacks many additional editing features that you will need to format and produce beautiful-looking page and post content.
Every WordPress-based site that I design has the TinyMCE Advanced plugin installed and formatted with the most useful tools you will need. I have grouped these tools in a manner that should make it fairly simple for you to navigate. If you can create a document using MicroSoft Word, you should have no difficulty working with the TinyMCE editor.
Most of the icons in the editor are self-explanatory; however, if you are unsure what an icon represents, you can simply mouse-over the icon and a small description label will appear indicating what the icon represents.
If you ever find yourself uncertain about how to use the TinyMCE Advanced editor, you can simply use a search engine like Google or Yahoo to find additional information online. YouTube is also a very good source for tutorials. I have embedded a brief video tutorial on “How to Use TinyMCE Advanced” below.
